We do need to be careful about which charities we support. However, the author seems to be concerned with the administrative costs of charities but did not take into account the much higher administrative costs of government. He has also ignored the benefits gained by the individual giver and community when relief efforts are at least partially supported through charitable efforts. I am a strong supporter of volunteer/charitble efforts to make this a better world.
